Stage lighting
Stage lighting is a necessary accessory in stage performances and is a very central means.
The lighting affects the atmosphere of the show, highlights and illuminates what is needed to make it look better and also serves as an effect such as tracking the lighting of a particular person to create emphasis and depth on something or someone specific and compelling.
In order for your show to be professional, high-quality and invested, lighting is a necessary issue that must be taken care of and ensure that there is lighting that is good enough and someone who will take care of it during the show.
Lighting selection is a topic that needs to be taken care of, choose the type of lighting, location in terms of angle, height and distance, etc.
Lighting types:
Spotlights – An elliptical reflector spotlight (ERS) is a light used to highlight certain subjects or sections on stage at a relatively narrow beam of light. This type of light would be great for drawing attention to a particular person. This lighting allows focus and zoom.
PAR – Parabolic reflectors, are lights that are used as rinsing bodies. These lights cover large parts of the stage to complete the parts that the spotlights fail to illuminate and to wash the entire stage with light. These bodies come in all kinds of lenses that give options for different angles. This lighting is most commonly used for stages.
Fresnel – Lighting fixtures of this type are the exact middle ground between the two previous fixtures we talked about.
They have an option to zoom but not focus and usually give a much softer light than the other bodies. In addition, if you need adjustable lighting, this is a body that can be very suitable for answering this.
Moving head – These bodies come in a variety of designs and types such as spot, beam and hybrid.
Which means different angles and different range that the same light fixture gives.
These light fixtures also have color capability, motion and a long list of functions. These bodies make it possible to take the stage performance to a whole new level.
These are just some of the types of lighting that exist for stage performances but these are the most common today so we talked about them.
Hanging lighting fixtures:
Whenever you hang a light fixture, the most important thing is safety.
Please note that you do not allow lighting fixtures to be hung by a person who does not understand this and is not a professional.
Lighting fixtures should be hung by a professional using appropriate equipment.
Lighting fixture location:
Placing lighting fixtures depends on several variables. For example: the desired look, stage design, ceiling height and more. Lighting fixtures are placed according to points. That is, one point, two, three or four.
Lighting at one point – the simplest type, mimicking the sun. I mean it has a natural look and gives a dramatic lighting effect.
Lighting at two points – gives a three-dimensional look to the subject on stage, one light will be in front of the subject and the other behind it and sometimes even in a slightly different color to give a dimension to the subject.
Three-point lighting – is a technique that eliminates most of the shadows from the audience’s perspective and is therefore really good for presentations and public speaking.
This lighting is located when two lights are in the front and the third in the back.
Four-point lighting – a very useful technique for video compared to the other techniques.
This lighting is just like three-point lighting only the fourth light is located in the front.
